TIME LIMITS

by:
Amy Clarke Ellis

If I could live a thousand years
With no disruption of life's span,
There'd be so many special things
I then could do and dream and plan.

A thousand years of life's delights!
Why I could have the longest fling,
And still find ample time to change
Before a final reckoning.

Yet I would also have to bear
A many years of pain and grief.
'Tis best instead the Lord designed
Our time on earth unsure and brief.
