IN SOLITUDE

by:
Edna Fontaine

I sit and listen quietly
To what God has to say,
For soon the dawn will break
And I'll face another day.

He speaks His words of wisdom-
The truth that I must know-
To follow in His footsteps
Is the way that I must go.

He'll guide me through the pitfalls
That this sad world can bring
If I am faithful to His words
He'll grant me everything.

Within His hands are blessings
That He'll bestow on me;
I'll find the faith and hope and love
That will feed me constantly.

I'd travel only barren lands
Without Him by my side
But He can hear my inner plea-
"Oh, Lord! In me abide."
