OF CHARITY AND LOVE

Charity of heart is measured
By the gifts we give away
That are meant to serve another,
In a helpful, Christian way
But the measure of devotion
Is the heartaches that we bea
To preserve a love, or marriage,
In their moments of despair.
Both require the trust and virtues
Of a faithful, Christian heart
That wil sacrifice or suffer,
For the ends it would impart;
And we need the Grace of Jesus
In our charities and cares
To be selfless Christian givers
And to love, against despairs.
