AUTUMN SPLENDOR

by:
Elsie Natalie Brady

There's a rustling in the treetops
When winds of Autumn blow,
And scarlet leaves go sailing by
Until they drop below.

There's a subtle sweet aroma
From the grapes upong the vine,
Waiting to be gathered
For jam and sparkling wine.

There's a burst of Autumn colors
In gardens everywhere
To fill the empty vases
With flowers blooming there.

There's a little twinge of sadness
When Summer disappears,
But Autumn brings new gladness
And joys this time of year.
